Finished indent

This is the finished and rendered indent i will be using at the end of the trailer and the beginning of the film.

this is the background picture i will be using as the background of the indent. it will be accompanied by the text created in live type as seen in the second picture.

the picture below is a screenshot of me putting the sound along with the indent picture and text together.

the road is a apocolyptic film about a man and his son making there way south to the coast. the film shows a great atmosphere of the apocolyptic genre and continues to suprise me with the use of locations and the simple props. i believe i should use the same style the road has used in its films in my film to make my film look more like an apocolyptic film. i will then be able to take the best parts from the film to be used in my trailer.

as you can see by this picture i am writing on the board, names that could be used to name my film. these names were thought up by me in a brain storming session in school.

Who is my target audience

i am aiming this film for 12+ people who like to watch post apocalyptic films or TV shows, E.G. the walking dead or the book of eli.

also people who like to play post apocalyptic games, E.G. Fallout and metro.

the reason i am choosing this target audience is because a lot of the current population who are young like to see these kinds of films.

i will be using this guide to create the fake missile that will be the emp over the city. this will create a nice look to the film as well.

advertisement ideas

there are many ways in which you can advertise a film and this includes film posters, magazine pages, trailers and merchandise.

the many merchandise you could have is replica props e.g weapons and clothing.

many films have merchandise, the main franchise that does this is disney and marvel.

putting our film in a magazine or newspaper is also a good way to advertise. many people buy newspapers each day so this would gain a large audience.

sub genre

a sub genre is a genre below a main genre e.g. horror has a sub genre of slasher and many other.

hybrid genre

a hybrid genre is were 2 genre's are used in a film, a good example of this would be the alien and predator series. horror and sci fi come together along with other aspects of action and thriller. there are many other hybrid genres that can be used.

- comedy horror
- romantic comedy

what will need to be seen in a apocalyptic trailer

in the trailer there will need to be an element of action seen, this will have to be complimented by an apocalyptic background. this can be done by using damaged buildings an overlaying a foggy foreground when editing.

damaged weapons will have to be used and look like they have been repaired using conventional items that can be found after a nuclear bomb has gone off.

Heavy sounds will need to be used in an apocalypse trailer.

What makes this trailer a horror

the reason this trailer is a horror is because of the dark scenes you see in the beginning of the trailer. you also see the undead going after human beings. the titles are also done in a certain style to complement the genre.

What makes this trailer a action

the many aspects in this trailer that shows you it is an action is that you see explosions and gun fire in almost all the shots. many famous actors that do action films are in the trailer as well. E.G. arnold schwarzenegger who did the terminator series.
